Utility and Heating
All electric and gas utilities offer a reduced rate to help residents with bills. You can save up to 20% from December - April. Eligible customers must receive either LIHEAP, WV WORKS, SSI, or Food Stamps and be 60 years of age or older. West Virginia residents must be a recipient of one of these assistance programs during November, December, January, February, and March in order to get the discounted utility and heating bills.
Rates are lowered by twenty percent on your gas bill December through April for Food Stamp or SSI recipients who are 60 years of age or older. Learn more on Dominion Hope energy programs.
West Virginia Utility Assistance Program
This is an fund operated by Dollar Energy Fund that will help eligible West Virginia utility customers with paying their electric, gas, utility, and water bills. West Virginia customers who are eligible for this aid will receive a one-time cash grant that is applied directly to their utility bill. Cash grants are available to families and customers who may not be eligible for LIHEAP assistance.
Emergency Charitable Assistance
Helps lower income customers with paying their heating and gas bills. The Salvation Army manages this fund which is made up of donations from customers and employees. Dominion will also match dollar for dollar funds provided.
