Virginia programs to help with paying utility bills

Dominion Virginia Power
Provides free energy star cooling fans, which will help lower utility bills in your home, to elderly Virginians who reside within the Dominion Virginia Power service area. The resident must be 60 or older. Additional assistance programs from Dominion Virginia Power.

Virginia Natural Gas
They offer a Home Weatherization Assistance program that is available to eligible households. A professional service crew will visit a home and determine what weatherization measures will best suit the house and that will lower utility bills. Some of the services they might recommend include: additional insulation for ceilings and walls to help lower heating bills, caulking and weatherstripping; repair of leaky duct systems and repair/replacement of heating/cooling systems with Energy star products.   Find additional programs. This will provides heating bill assistance payments to homes in the Washington D.C. area that do not qualify for, or if they have exhausted, other government aid.
