Help with utilities from Rocky Mountain Power

Rocky Mountain Power offers customers a number of ways to save money on their utility bills and resources that can help them pay their bills. Programs can provide cash and grants for paying utility bills, and several resources are offered to help lower income families save money. Details on the Rocky Mountain services are below, or call them at 1-888-221-7070.

HEAT Assistance Program – If your total household income meets Rocky Mountain Power HEAT Assistance guidelines, then customers may be qualified for a credit on their electric bill. You just need to mention this to the HEAT Assistance Office in Utah when applying for financial assistance and the representative will also be able to assist you in applying for the credit. HEAT is federal government funded assistance program that was designed to help low-income households with paying for home energy costs. It is administered by the Utah Department of Community and Culture through local agencies.

HELP Bill Discount program - If your total household income meets HEAT Assistance guidelines (see above), then you may be eligible for the Home Electric Lifeline Program (HELP) which provides a credit on your monthly Rocky Mountain Power bills. Mention this possible credit to the local HEAT Assistance Office when applying for grants and/or financial assistance and they can assist you in enrolling for the credit.






If you buy high efficiency cooling equipment, then customers in Utah can save money on their bills and also receive cash incentives and cash back. The incentives can be used for purchasing equipment tune-ups, high efficiency cooling equipment, or duct work. You will be able to better manage energy demand in the summer with the company’s Cool Keeper program.

Utah Weatherization Program – The Utah Department of Community & Culture offers free weatherization services to income qualifying households. For information, visit your local community action agency or call 1-877-488-3233.

Rocky Mountain Power payment plans - Call to speak to a representative to learn about special services, time payment plans and bill assistance for low income customers or others who are experiencing financial hardships. If you are experiencing difficulty making payments on your utility bills, or if you have questions on resources available, call Rocky Mountain Power at 1-888-221-7070. They also work closely with non-profit agencies, such as your local community action agency.

Utah Lend A Hand - This is a nonprofit assistance program that is involved in providing energy bill assistance to struggling customers using donated funds.  Due to funding limitations and the amount of donations received, households with disabled family members, senior, families with children are given priority for funds.
