Montana programs that help with heating and utility bills

Flathead Electric Cooperative
Eligible state residents will receive a credit that is equal to half of their basic charge on their utility bill each month. This will typically will be $8.00 per month for a credit. Residential members need to qualify as low-income according to LIHEAP guidelines. Montana residents qualifying with LIHEAP after October 1 will automatically be eligible for this assistance.

Hill County Electric - Universal Services Benefit Program
A $100 benefit is available to help pay utility bills through July 31 for customers who qualify. After July 31, residents may reapply for additional aid and any remaining funds available.

Lincoln Electric Co-op
Seniors who are low income and over 65, and permanently disabled residents may be eligible for a 10 percent reduction in their utility, energy, and heating bills. Montana residents who qualify for Social Security Disability or Supplemental Disability are qualified if they meet the income test.

Missoula Electric Cooperative, Park Electric Co-op and NorthWestern Energy
Customers who receive aid through LIHEAP program may be eligible for a discount.

Free Weatherization Program

NorthWestern Energy and Sun River Electric Coop
Provides funding for heating bills to help weatherize residential homes for lower income households.
