Help Paying Utilities

Delmarva Power help paying utility bills

The state of Delaware and federal government of course have a few utility bill programs for the low income, such as LIHEAP and weatherization (which is a conservation program). In addition to those two options, DelMarva Power offers its customers a couple other programs that can help paying utility bills.

Delmarva Good Neighbor Energy Fund - This was created in partnership with local non-profits, primarily the Salvation Army. Delmarva Power works closely with the Salvation Army to offer energy bill assistance to its low to moderate income customers through the Good Neighbor Energy Fund. Delmarva budget billing - This program helps people pay their utility and energy bills by allowing them to budget for expenses. Whether it is hot, humid summers or very cold winters, these different times of the year often lead to high monthly energy use by all types of Delmarva customers. With the Budget Billing program/option that is offered, all customers (regardless of income) can avoid seasonal peaks in electric and/or natural gas bills by dividing the customers total annual payments evenly over the course of the entire year. This utility bill plan makes it easier for customers to budget and pay energy bills each and every month, because customers know their regular payments and can plan accordingly.
