If your income is too high for other government assistance programs, then the Neighbor Helping Neighbor Fund may be the best choice for you. It is a resource that is available for more moderate  income households that are not qualified for other Fuel Assistance programs as maybe their income is too high. It is a private charitable fund that provides financial assistance and cash grants to customers whose total household income is above other government and public Fuel Assistance guidelines and programs.

New Hampshire Electric Assistance Program (EAP) - This program is offered across the state and by each and every utility company. The program is a statewide energy assistance program that helps reduce the amount of money you owe on your monthly utility or electric bill. The amount of discount provided can be anywhere from 5 to 70%. Call your local community action agency to apply for the Electric Assistance Program, or other programs like LIHEAP. Shut off protection for seniors - If the customer, or a member of their household, is 65 years of age or older, you have certain rights and laws that protect you. A protection plan means that these customers  are protected against termination of their electrical or utility service for failure to pay a past due utility bill. .
